One of our community members, Monica Corrado of Simply Being Well, just shared with me that her 11-year-old son, Bodhi, created a pie without her being involved in any way! I wanted to share his recipe with the rest of you! We encourage you to teach your children how to cook, and bake. Read my review of the Nourishing Traditions Cookbook for Children. Banana Cream Pie Ingredients
Good for one 9” pie
2 Fresh Organic Bananas
4 Pasture-Raised Eggs
1/2 Cup Whole Milk; Preferably Raw Milk
4 Tbsp Maple Syrup
[Monica’s notes: In order to make this recipe in alignment with the Weston A. Price Foundation’s dietary principles, you may choose to do one of the following:
For the filling: Mash all ingredients together.
For the crust: Put oat flour in large bowl.Chop butter into small pieces and mix into oat flour. Gradually pour milk into blend and knead. Roll flat and lay in 9” pie pan.
Pour mashed banana blend into crust. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Preheat oven to 375* and bake pie for 40 minutes.
